Ingredients

  • 500 g turkey mince (ground turkey)
  • 1 egg
  • 40 g dried breadcrumbs
  • 30 g Parmesan, finely grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 g passata (sieved tomatoes)
  • 350 g spaghetti
  • black pepper
  • 1 bunch fresh basil · can skip

Method

  1. Mix the turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, one clove of the garlic, the oregano, salt and some pepper with your hands until just combined.
  2. With wet hands, roll into about 20 balls the size of a large cherry tomato.
  3. Heat the air fryer to 200°C / 400°F. Cook the meatballs in a single layer, in batches if needed, for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking halfway, until browned and cooked through with no pink inside.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti following its packet.
  5. Warm the oil in a wide pan, cook the remaining garlic for a minute, add the passata and simmer for 10 minutes. Season.
  6. Add the meatballs to the sauce, simmer for 2 minutes, then toss with the drained spaghetti. Tear over the basil, if using.
